The Los Angeles Lakers were dubbed as championship favorites before the start of the season, fair to say they are nowhere near that. The team is currently struggling for a playoff spot and taking the 9th spot in the Western Conference.

Although a playoff spot is not impossible, it certainly will not be easy. The Western Conference currently has three teams fighting for a playoff spot.

The biggest worry for the team has been the form of Russell Westbrook. Although there was major news linking him to trade away from Los Angeles, it has all been in vain. Westbrook’s high salary proves to be a major factor in why many deals failed for the former MVP.

The latest news surrounding the Sacramento Kings might make the fans happy. According to the latest rumors, the Kings are open to offloading Buddy Hield. And the fans have already speculated his next team to be the Lakers.

According to HoopsHype, “While Indiana has to wait until the offseason to entertain any Brogdon trade talks, the Pacers could move another guard by Thursday. The Pacers are open to flipping Buddy Hield to another team before the deadline Thursday.”

Will the Lakers go for another aging player is the biggest question. Hield is already 29 and has disappointed this season. He averaging 14.4 points, 4.0 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game this season for the Kings.
