NBA fans and analysts often admire Michael Jordan as one of the greatest players of all time. Jordan spent 15 seasons in the NBA and achieved enormous success with the Chicago Bulls. He heralded a new era of the NBA’s worldwide marketability. The media often compares Jordan to other NBA stars like LeBron James, Kobe Bryant, and others in the ‘GOAT’ debate.

Mark Wahlberg, a famous American actor, commented on the GOAT debate that included Jordan and LeBron. Wahlberg was speaking on the ‘Skip and Shannon: Undisputed’ show. Host Skip Bayless, a noted anti-LeBron critic, quizzed Wahlberg about where he stands on the fiery debate that NBA fans often engage in.

Wahlberg said, “Oh well you, Michael, you cannot have that conversation. Yeah but it’s not effective you can’t have that conversation yet. But it’s not done, I mean, Michael has never lost in the finals, you know, he’s six for six. I mean, he is you got Michael Jordan. I mean, he is by far the greatest of all time I mean, he’s had it all, does it all.

He further added, “But I tell you LeBron still has a chance to be in the conversation I think you know depends on what he does next if he does in the next 3-4 years if he goes and wins three or four in a row breaks all the records breaks the scoring records.”

Bayless reignited an age-old heated debate and also engaged Wahlberg in it, coaxing an answer out of the actor. ‘His Airness’ started his NBA career in 1984 with the Bulls. Jordan played alongside Scottie Pippen and Dennis Rodman in a star-studded roster coached by Phil Jackson.

Will Michael Jordan retain his ‘GOAT’ title or can LeBron James surpass him?

Many sports fans use the ‘greatest player of all time’ title to distinguish world-class players from professional players. The NBA and the world of basketball often debate over Jordan and LeBron James deserving the ‘GOAT’ title. However, comparisons between the two are complex, as they displayed their otherworldly talent in remarkably different basketball eras. Jordan won six NBA championships with the Bulls while LeBron has four NBA championships to his name.

Jordan led an imposing Bulls side to two historic three-peat championships. Los Angeles Lakers talisman LeBron, on the other hand, remains the only player to have won NBA titles with three different franchises. LeBron (35,588) surpassed Jordan (32,292) on the NBA’s points scored chart and is currently third on the list. Jordan remains in the fifth position having retired back in 2003.
