Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant has had a topsy-turvy season. When talking about the Nets, the NBA side has not been at its best this season. However, this time, KD is not to be blamed for the same, as he has been the lone warrior for the Nets this season. Given the controversies surrounding the Nets, it could have affected KD’s performance this season. But Durant is on a roll. He is way past the time when he requested a trade twice earlier this year.

The 12-time NBA All-Star recently revealed in an interview his reasons to want to leave the NY side. Durant is now free of those notions as he moves forward with the Nets in the season with the new coach.

Reasons behind Kevin Durant wanting to be traded

Last season, Durant was annoyed and frustrated with the way the team played. He revealed why he wished to leave the NY team in a recent interview with Chris Haynes of Bleacher report.

?I went to them and was like, ?Yo, I don’t like how we are preparing. I don’t like shootarounds, I like practices… I want to work on more s**t. Hold me accountable. Get on my a** in film if that’s going to help you get on everybody else?s head. I want to do more closeouts. I want to work on more shell drills at practice,? Durant said. The Nets star added that his decision to want to be traded wasn?t difficult as he cared about the quality of basketball played.

The 12-time All-Star also mentioned that this is no more the case with the new Nets coach, Jacque Vaughn. Durant feels more confident with Vaughn?s approach to the game than the former coach Steve Nash.

The two-time NBA champion explicitly mentioned that he didn?t want to be scapegoated for the team?s failures. Hence, his trade request came in June 2022.?

Nets and KD in the 2022-23 season

When talking about KD’s performance this season, the Brooklyn Nets superstar has been one of the best performers in the entire league. The 34-year-old has 15 25-point games for the season, the most in the league. The team?s position in the table might not signify his contributions, but Kevin Durant is in top form.

Durant?s performances for the Nets are top-notch, and there should be hardly any complaints about it. But the Nets have to take hold of their rocky season.?
