Anthony Davis is nearing a return. After a calf strain ruled him out in early February, Davis spent nearly two months on the sidelines. In his absence, the Los Angeles Lakers have struggled. What made his absence worse was the subsequent injury to LeBron James. Since then, the Lakers have missed their two superstars. However, Davis is close to coming back, and Kyle Kuzma has a hilarious demand from ‘The Brow.’

For the Lakers, Davis’ return spells good news. The franchise has been very careful with his injury. Given the nature of the injury, the Lakers thought it would be better to play it safe. Davis’ calf strain is hauntingly similar to the injury Kevin Durant suffered in 2019 prior to his Achilles tear. Durant didn’t get the proper time to heal from his injury, as the Warriors were in the playoffs. The lack of healing time led to Durant tearing his Achilles during the NBA Finals.

Davis is on the way to returning
Davis has had a shaky history with injuries in the past. Therefore, it was in the Lakers’ best interest to let him heal fully. AD is the future for the Lakers, and the player they will build around. They would not want to risk his long-term health in order to improve their chances at an NBA title this season.
Furthermore, the Lakers believe that their regular season seed doesn’t matter, and they feel confident about their chances with LeBron James and Anthony Davis fully fit. With both their superstars healthy, the team will believe they can defeat any opponent in seven games.
