NBA superstar LeBron James has been the face of the league for so many years now. The four-time champion is not just a great basketball player, but he is also a huge fan of the game. James can be seen courtside of random games from time to time. Safe to say that he always had an eye for talent. Be it a high school game or a college game or an AAU game, James will sit through to watch upcoming stars. In the past, he has been in attendance to watch a young Stephen Curry play during his Davidson years.

However, his superstardom sometime gets in the way when he is in public. Also, there is a bit of risk involved which has caused some discomfort.

LeBron James wanted to watch LaMelo Ball vs. Zion Williamson

In 2017, LeBron James wanted to watch LaMelo Ball and his Big Baller Brand face Zion Williamson and his SC Supreme in Las Vegas. But it was a highly hyped-up AAU game and fans came in numbers to watch the future stars play. So, unfortunately, the four-time MVP had to leave the game because of security concerns due to overcrowding.

LaMelo’s father, LaVar Ball had a very interesting reply when asked about James leaving the game. As per reports from Bleacher Report, LaVar said, “He’s not the biggest player to me. The biggest players to me are my boys. I don’t care about no LeBron. LeBron do his thing, I just worry about my boys. I don’t worry about all that other stuff.”

Zion and LaMelo are arguably the most hyped high school stars in recent times. Zion was infamous for his unreal dunks and highlight reels. On the other hand, LaMelo was effortlessly hitting half-court shots for fun. So it was no surprise James wanted to catch the two going against each other. Zion and his team came out on top in Vegas.

While the two took different routes to the league, they are proving to the world that they can emulate their high school performances in the NBA when they are fit. Zion was the #1 pick in the 2019 draft and LaMelo was the #3 pick in the 2020 draft. The two are arguably the best players on their respective teams.

The Los Angeles Lakers are all set to face the Charlotte Hornets away from home. Both teams did not make the playoffs last year and are now struggling this year as well. They both sit in the fifth spot in their respective divisions.
