However, A 26-year-old Utah Jazz star is currently fulfilling his national duty after the recently concluded season. Moreover, he left the social media divided with his pictures from the duty. Fans swarmed the comments section, roasting the Jazz star for his recent uploads. The Jazz had an underwhelming season in the 2022-23 edition as they ended their campaign with a poor record of 37-45 in the 12th seed.

Despite their disappointing performance, the Utah franchise has a positive sign in the form of the 26-year-old Lauri Markkanen. The Finnish Basketball star turned up all his gas cylinders in the last season, which eventually fetched him an NBA award. Even after his personal success in the league, fans roasted him for his recent IG uploads. 

Lauri Markkanen shares pictures from his national duty

Jazz star Lauri Markkanen is currently fulfilling the mandatory six months commitment to serve the Finland army after the 2022-23 NBA season.  Notably, the 26-year-old star received a word of encouragement from the NBA legend Shaquille O’Neal before he left for the service.

Markkanen joined Inside Guys after the league awarded him as the 2023 Most Improved Player for his massive improvement on the court. While the crew spoke about his achievement, the star also opened up about his upcoming national duty. 

Even though fans showered the star with respect when he announced his commitment to his country’s army, the recent social media upload left the online world divided. 

The star took to his IG and shared pictures from the army camp. However, one selfie stood out of the lot, as Markkanen shared a selfie, completely covering his face in dirt during the training.

Several NBA fan pages shared the pictures from the star’s post, garnering a lot of reactions from fans. While some fans wished Markkanen luck, a certain section of fans roasted the star for the selfie.
