With incredible playmaking and scoring ability, especially from beyond the arc, Young has brought success to the Hawks. In fact, he even led the franchise to the Eastern Conference Finals in the 2021 playoffs. Moreover, it was the franchise’s first playoff experience since the 2016-17 season.

In his latest matchup against the New York Knicks, Young dropped 45 points and 8 assists to give the Hawks its 36th win of the season. During the game, the Knicks fans continuously booed the star. However, his response to the booing after the game took fans on Twitter by storm.

Trae Young Responds to Knicks Fans

Following the game, Young spoke to Jared Greenberg regarding the booing from the fans in the game.

“No. No. I couldn’t really hear them for real. It wasn’t even that loud to be honest with you,” said Young regarding the loudness of the booing from the fans.

Clearly, Young appears to be in supreme confidence. Ever since the Hawks dominated the Knicks in the 2021 playoffs, Young has always agitated the fans. Moreover, it was the Knicks’ first playoff appearance since the 2012-13 season. Hence, the booing towards Young during the game.

Fans React to Young’s Response

The Twitterverse was taken aback by Young’s response. They put forward several opinions, among which included a comparison between Young and James Harden, and the fact that Young ‘owns’ the Knicks.

Clearly, the fans seem to be enjoying the heatedness of the Knicks towards Young. Moreover, the fans have lost all their hopes as Young’s win officially eliminated them from playoff contention this season.

Clearly Young has decimated the Knicks throughout his career. This has led to an entire fanbase looking at him with anger. But the fact is that the Knicks have been poor all season long. As for the Hawks, they too have endured a relatively poor season in comparison to 2020-21. With 36 wins, they hang by a thread for qualification to the play-in tournament.
