Victor Wembanyama is no joke. This young French basketball sensation is en route to being next year’s 1st pick. That should underline most things. One is that he is exceptionally talented. Two, his combination of young blood and towering physique is lethal.

In the French league, Wembanyama led his team to victory. The Boulogne-Levallois Metropolitans player dropped 30 points with 9 rebounds. The team clocked in their 7th consecutive win and is now leading the league.
NBA fans have had their jaws drop over his performance. One user tweeted that it was “unfair”. People are curious how someone can be this good. Another wrote that Wembanyama was a “2k character” suggesting his unbelievable handles.

Even Tim Martin, his trainer talked about Wembanyama’s ability to retain and apply information. “Just unreal”, was his comment. Martin praised Wembanyama for being dedicated to his practice and his growth mindset to always do better. Martin also admitted that it would only take one rep for the 7’3″ player to understand different drills and plays.
Victor Wembanyama has got big fans already
His entry to the NBA is much anticipated, and scouts believe the hype hasn’t been this much since perhaps LeBron James himself. Even James is mighty impressed with Victor Wembanyama, calling him an “alien“.

He described Wembanyama’s play as “fluid and graceful”. Other NBA legends including Kevin Durant and Giannis Antetokounmpo have previously lauded the player.
Victor Wembanyama comes from a long lineage of basketball players. His mother and her parents played basketball. His father was a long jumper. Both his parents’ average height was above 6 feet. His siblings also play basketball. It is arguably the only world he has ever known. And probably it is his world, and everyone else is just living in it.
