The latest news regarding Zion Williamson
The best part of the NBA season is just around the corner and the New Orleans Pelicans‘ fanbase doesn’t seem happy. According to The Athletic, “Zion Williamson is not expected to return to play this season, but that he is making progress toward on-court work.” After undergoing foot surgery last summer, the 21-year-old has been struggling to stay fit.
Interestingly enough, the team has coped up well despite missing out on Zion. The New Orleans Pelicans are currently 9th in the Western Conference. Although a playoff spot is looking possible for them, it certainly will not be easy. The team faces competition from the likes of the Los Angeles Lakers and the Los Angeles Lakers.
With the absence of Zion Willamson, Brandon Ingram has been phenomenal. He averages 22.8 points and 5.5 assists this season. CJ McCullum averages 26.1 points, 6.6 assists, and 5.4 rebounds. Despite facing an injury crisis all season, the team has coped up well and kept the playoff hopes alive till now.

Zion's style of play is amazing but it's also asking too much of his body. There's no way someone that size was going to maintain that level of explosiveness for a sustained period of time.
