The Memphis Grizzlies superstar Ja Morant was in the limelight last month for sharing an Instagram video, where he showed off a gun while being at a club in Colorado. This made him serve an eight-game suspension. He eventually returned to the court in the latter part of March. The Grizzlies fans were relieved with his return and thought that the whole mess with him was over. However, this was seemingly not the case as the two-time All-Star recently got hit with fresh allegations.

Molly Hensley-Clancy and Gus Garcia-Roberts of The Washington Post?recently wrote an article that reveals Morant threatening a 17-year-old shoe salesman, Givon Busby. The incident took place on July 22, 2022, and Busby recently shared what happened on that day in a telephonic interview with Garcia-Roberts. This news caught the attention of NBA buffs and they were left startled after acknowledging Morant’s off-court exploits.

Busby, who works for a Finish Line store in Memphis Mall had Morant’s mother, Jamie Morant, as his customer on July 22, 2022. She seemingly went to buy shoes but she was angry with him as he prioritized two White women before her. The Grizzlies guard’s mother eventually got angrier after she came to know the shoe she wanted was not available in her size. As a result, Jamie started to follow him and said she would call her son. This made the store manager send Busby into the back of the store for his safety.

After some time, Morant arrived at the store with a group, consisting of around nine people, and started to look for the 17-year-old. The two-time All-Star searched for a while and stayed until the teenager’s shift was over. The now 23-year-old eventually left the store after not being to find him.

Following his departure, Busby also left the store. The 17-year-old went on to the Memphis Police Precinct to file a report, four days after the incident happened. However, he revealed that the police didn’t take any action and Morant was not listed as a suspect. Moreover, his mother was recorded as ‘unknown’. Busby thought the police did nothing only because of Morant’s stature as a basketball player in Memphis.
