Rajon Rondo, a future Hall of Famer, has enjoyed numerous achievements in his career. He is the best teammate to have, a statement with which several legends and NBA champions would agree. Rondo has played alongside many great athletes. The most recent one was LeBron James, with whom he won the 2020 NBA championship.

Rondo joined hands with LeBron in 2018, and it was his first time teaming up with the four-time MVP in twelve years of playing in the league. The Lakers did not find immediate success with this combination, but they struck gold in 2020.

Rajon Rondo’s teammate experience with LeBron James

“It was a hell of experience. Like I said, [LeBron James] was very vocal this year in film, as far as helping young guys understand what they need to be where we need to be as a team,” mentioned Rondo.

Rondo is credited as one of the most gifted players ever, and his basketball IQ is unparalleled. Thus, it was indeed a delight when two great minds in Rondo and LeBron took the court together. It was a new learning experience for both athletes as well.

“I was picking his brain and studied him, his body of work, the way he moves. When I go back and watch film, I used to always watch film on myself and then I’ll watch a film of him, [Anthony Davis], and understanding where they want the bar and where they’re great at,” Rondo added on the podcast.

“So that was my mindset when I was going into it and like I said, but to be able to play with him and pick his brain daily understand his discipline, what he’s done to be able to become so dominant in year 17 and it was fun to watch and great to be next to. It was a hell of a ride these last couple of years,” he added.
