Denver Nuggets star Nikola Jokic is one of the more renowned players in the NBA. The Serbian national is popular among NBA fans and they commonly refer to him through his nickname “the Joker”. The three-time All NBA star also represents his country Serbia through the national basketball team in international competitions. Jokic won a silver medal with the national team at the 2016 Summer Olympics.

Jokic, a regular starter for the Nuggets, recently involved himself in a controversial incident. The 26-year-old brought the heat to a game against the Miami Heat when the referee ejected him out of the game. The scene began with Miami power forward, Markieff Morris elbowing Jokic’s right side to gain possession of the ball. Morris’ foul visibly provoked Jokic as the Serbian retaliated with a violent push, forcing Moris to the floor.

The Nuggets star spoke about the conflict at the post-game conference. He apologized for his reaction to the foul and expressed regret for the subsequent proceedings. “I feel bad,” said Jokic. “It was a stupid play. I’m not supposed to react that way.

He added saying, “I don’t know who showed me the clip, and actually, his head snapped back. So I feel really bad. It’s a bad move.

Jokic joined the Nuggets in 2015 when they picked him in the second round of the 2014 NBA draft. Jokic led the Nuggets to the Western Conference Semifinals in the 2018-19 NBA season. The NBA selected the commanding center as the MVP for the 2020-21 season.

Nikola Jokic’s Nuggets bring the heat against the Miami Heat

The Denver Nuggets cruised to a victory over the Miami Heat on Monday night. The game, however, was a controversial one, as it saw Nikola Jokic get ejected for shoving Miami’s Markieff Morris. An emotionally charged game eventually finished with the Nuggets winning by a score of 113-6 at Ball Arena.

Jokic and Will Barton scored 25 points for the Nuggets. Jimmy Butler led the Heat with 31 points, followed by Duncan Robinson with 13 points. The Nuggets led dominantly with a score of 64-49 at halftime. The Nuggets host the Indiana Pacers next at the Ball Arena.
