2022 NBA finalist Jayson Tatum is not one to shy away from talking about his troubled past. According to him, his father’s harsh treatment of his young son pushed him harder.
During games, his father would pin him against the wall and scold him in front of everybody. Following this, Tatum would outscore the entire team whenever he came back on the court.
According to the NY Post, when asked about his father, Tatum said, “I was scared of him, and he would grab me by my shirt and pin me up against the wall, and cuss me out in front of everybody, and I would be bawling. He called me on my name.”
While talking about his relationship with his father, the $25 million worth basketball star spoke of how he felt his father didn’t like him as a kid. The reason being? He was always mean to the young basketball sensation. However, his father’s treatment always motivated Jayson Tatum to push harder and helped him become the star he is today.
