Isiah Thomas is an NBA legend. Today, he is a basketball coach, analyst and has also owned a basketball team. Even with several such achievements under his belt, Thomas still considers someone else to be his personal hero.
Thomas recently sat down with a YouTube channel to talk about the various aspects of the NBA and facets of his life. During that time, he revealed something from his personal life and termed the individual involved as his hero.
Isiah Thomas talks about his elder brother’s achievement

That person is none other than his elder brother. During the conversation, Isiah veered towards the story of his brother and went on to reveal something really inspirational.
He said, “True story about my older brother Lord Henry. He got turned out in High School, he was a heroin addict, he was on heroin for 30-35 years. And you know, only one percent of heroin addicts kick and he finally kicked at the end, went back to college, graduated from college.”

He said this while he was a guest with Shay’s Universe, a YouTube channel. Apart from his recounting of his brother’s death, he also spoke about the life was very different in the sixties and the decades that he grew up in.

Isiah is a legend among basketball fans and started his career during the 1979-80 season. Fans have rallied behind Isiah and also nicknamed him ‘Mr.Wonderful’. He started his NBA career in the 1981-82 season and played for the Detroit Pistons.

He was one of the biggest rivals of Michael Jordan. Since his retirement from the sport, he has invested in several businesses and has worked in various capacities in the NBA and its teams.

Thomas revealed that his brother has since expired. NBA, basketball, and the NBA legends have several stories that are inspirational. Many of these individuals even decide to give back to the community as much as they can. Kevin Durant, through the Kevin Durant Foundation, is building basketball courts in America and abroad. The Foundation also tries to help at-risk students in various ways, including academic and sports scholarships.
