The Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant is known for being a fierce competitor. The 23-year-old has built an image for himself that perfectly compliments his style of play. Morant’s competitiveness knows no bounds as he once even spoke against Michael Jordan himself. Although that can be interpreted as him being an ambitious baller, bullying a kid takes his approach to another level.
Morant is currently trying to take his team through the playoff round. He amassed 31 points in their last matchup against the LA Lakers, pushing the tournament into game 6. Although the Lakers currently hold a 3-2 lead against the Grizzlies, Morant, and company are prepared to take on any challenge. Recently, the news of him bullying a kid just for being a Golden State Warriors fan has resurfaced.

The signature of any athlete is their approach to the game. While some are cool-headed individuals who are capable of differentiating between life and sport, others are very much blatant in their approach as they go all out on any challenge or situation. As fans know, Morant fits in the latter bracket. His upfront nature aids him in dominating the league as he does at only 23 years of age. Unfortunately, it also causes problems for the young star. Morant has been on the wrong side of the conversation with law enforcement several times in his career. This even earned him the nickname “Ja Warrant.” Despite all that, Morant is a star and the backbone of his Memphis team.
However, a recently surfaced incident of Morant bullying a kid may sound absurd to even his fans. In January last year, Morant stared down a kid after scoring a game-winning shot against the Warriors. Morant also denied the kid’s high-five request. As he later explained that just because the kid was wearing a Stephen Curry jersey inside the FedExForum, Morant couldn’t oblige his requests. He said, “He was disrespectful with that jersey on. We in Memphis.” Although the Grizzlies star later apologized to the kid.

He also said that he will be sending a Grizzlies jersey for him so that he can represent Memphis, while in Memphis.

One thing about Morant which is clear to everyone, is that he exudes confidence. The 23-year-old never had an issue with representing himself as the hero of his story from the get-go. This even led to him calling out the great Michael Jordan.

During an interview last year, Morant talked about Jordan and his contributions to the game. The young blood gave him his flowers for changing the game with his elite mentality. However, Morant said that he “would have cooked him too,” as he can’t see anyone beating him one-on-one.
