After the recent reports of Los Angeles Lakers superfan Norm Pattiz’s death, the NBA world was in shock, especially the Lakers family. Magic Johnson and LeBron James, amongst others, shared their thoughts and condolences over the passing of the late superfan.
On social media, Lakers legend Magic Johnson took out time to write down his thoughts, remembering the moment when Pattiz cheered from the crowd. “I’ll always remember Norm cheering on the Lakers from his floor seats & clapping on every possession & playing with his program!” Johnson remembered.

In addition to him, James also took to social media to pay tribute. “Rest in paradise Norm!!!,” said the Lakers star. Fans of the Lakers are sharing old pictures and stories of Pattiz supporting the Lakers on social media.
As Lakers legend Shaquille O’Neal introduced Pattiz to the interviewers, he talked about remembering Pattiz and how he witnessed the superfan always supporting the team. Shaq also sent out condolences to Pattiz’s wife and family.

“He would always have the Laker jackets with my number and Kobe’s number.” remembered Shaq. “I want to give condolences to his wife Mary and all the people that PodcastOne,” said the Lakers legend in the interview. “He was a good guy,” he added.
Pattiz’s radio channels Westwood One and PodcastOne have a large audience around the world. Having worked in the radio industry for years, he was inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame. On Sunday, he passed away at the age of 79. The cause of death, however, has still not been revealed.

Pattiz had been seen supporting the Lakers from the Johnson era to Kobe Bryant and Shaq’s dominance, and now to the modern-day Lakers with James. Through the years, he has always been sitting along the courtside watching his favorite team evolve.
As part of Shaq’s podcast, the panel of interviewers discussed many trending topics, including Anthony Davis‘s recent dominant performance and Deion Sander’s move to Colorado. Aside from this, he also shared his favorite songs with the audience at the end of the interview.
