The Los Angeles Lakers are still in turmoil. Even after the appointment of Darvin Ham as the new head coach, there are too many uncertainties around the franchise. While LeBron James is looking to go out all guns blazing, the current roster doesn’t inspire much hope for a championship.
The Lakers have been trying to make moves in the off-season and one name that has been constantly rumored to end up in Hollywood is Kyrie Irving. After a very disappointing first season, star point guard Russell Westbrook was expected to be traded. However, the former MVP has himself made a massive decision for his future.

After 14 years together, Russell Westbrook has parted ways with his agent, Thad Foucher. While Westbrook’s future is up in the air for the fourth successive summer, his agent cited “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the pair parting ways. The whole situation came about due to the fact that they had no full alignment for the future.

Thad Foucher wanted Westbrook to embrace the role and continue with the Lakers for next season. However, the 9-time All-Star didn’t concur with his agent. The separation comes as huge news for the fans of LeBron James and the Lakers.
The Los Angeles Lakers had a season to forget
The Los Angeles Lakers had a horrific season last year as they failed to even make the play-in tournament. The trio of LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook rarely played together due to multiple injuries.
While LeBron was excellent for most parts of the season, Westbrook probably had his worst season to date. He averaged 18.5 points, which was his lowest since his sophomore year. After averaging a triple-double in three out of the last four seasons prior to joining the Lakers, much more was undoubtedly expected from the former MVP.
Multiple injuries and various off-court issues resulted in the Lakers finishing the season with a 33-49 record. The Lakers were expected to make a deep run in the playoffs but the season ended in a horrendous fashion.
LeBron James and Lakers fans react
Fans have reacted to the news about Westbrook parting with his agent and they assume something might happen soon.
For people wondering why this is important: they have separated because Russ’s agent believes that he should remain with the Lakers, but Westbrook does not agree; meaning that he wants out. This is huge.

The comments in this are very odd. Don’t think there has been such a public agent player breakup like this
Essentially Westbrook wants to be traded and Foucher realizes it’s impossible

Thad probably told Westbrook that he will have to probably play for 5M a year or the Veteran min and Westbrook can't face that.
