Harrison while growing up in a military household. The 15-time All-Star also claimed that his father’s disciplinary methods made him who he is today.
In a recent interview, Shaq made a revelation about an instance when he nearly brought a tear into his father’s eyes as an 18-year-old.

During the interview, Shaquille O’Neal was asked about a moment when he realized that he did not have to always listen to his father. Shaq responded that when he was an 18-year-old and was getting involved in contracts, his dad used to come and yell at him. At that moment, Shaq told his father, “Hey man, I got it.”
The Lakers legend stated that his father Harrison almost had a tear in his eye. Shaq’s father admitted to waiting for the moment his son would stand up to him. Shaquille O’Neal said, “And he let me take it on from there. It was good, like he wanted me to stand up to him.”

Moreover, Shaquille shared that his dad laid out the things that he needed to do as a grownup, like protecting the family, being observative, becoming financially smart, and avoiding fraud.
