Recently, an old video of Luka Doncic conversing with his former partner-in-crime Brunson has resurfaced on the internet, prompting the NBA fans to taunt the Mavericks star for gaining weight.

A few days back, Kendrick Perkins shook the hoops community by launching a tirade against Luka Doncic. Big Perk questioned Doncic’s leadership, body language, and defensive efforts. Adding insult to injury, the NBA veteran pointed out that the Mavericks centerpiece is physically unfit. However, the fans rushed to the Slovenian’s defense.

After leading the Mavs to the Western Conference Finals last season, a lot was expected from the team this year as well. With the addition of eight-time All-Star Kyrie Irving, those expectations rose. In an attempt to reminisce about the good old days, a Mavericks fan account tweeted the video featuring Doncic and JB. Fans, however, seem to have noticed Doncic’s weight gain only. A fan reshared the tweet and wrote, “Dude Luka is so fat now wtf.”?

“He needs to lose weight in the off-season and like a significant amount, kinda sad,”?another fan said.

Fans even went to the extent of saying that the Mavericks star has been stress-eating. “I think Luka started stress eating after we lost Brunson,”?a fan said.

“My boy been stress eating after losing every game, eventually it adds up,” another fan replied, taunting Luka Doncic’s fitness and the Mavericks’ lackluster campaign in one go.

Despite Luka Doncic’s stunning performances and the addition of Kyrie Irving to the side, the Mavericks seem to have fallen into a bottomless pit. Now, the throwback video has prompted the fans to not only belittle the 4x- NBA All-Star’s fitness but also highlight his shortcomings.

Despite gaining weight, Luka Doncic has been putting in some great numbers. However, to silence the outcries, the European will have to up his defensive efforts and ensure that his contributions prove beneficial to the Dallas franchise.
