What meant to be a blockbuster deal turned into a disaster for Russell Westbrook and the Los Angeles Lakers. After acquiring Russ from the Washington Wizards, fans and the front office expected big things.

We all know what happened. In case you have been living under a rock, the Lakers failed to make it into the playoffs. Westbrook receieved most of the bashing from the media and the fans owing to his poor performances all season.

Moreover, fans have not given up on roasting Westbrook although the season has ended. A post showing Russ spending time with his family is doing the rounds of the internet. NBA fans on Twitter grabbed this opportunity to roast the former MVP.

There is no denying the Los Angeles Lakers have disappointed this season. After bringing in Russell Westbrook from the Washington Wizards, a lot was expected. And why not? A front three of LeBron James, Russell Westbrook and Anthony Davis is expected to do big things.

However, the three rarely played together and whenever they did, they were not exceptional. Westbrook has been in the center of all the attention. Westbrook’s terrible shooting and turnovers have drawn flak from the media and the fans all season. Moreover, fans have given him the name ‘Westbrick’ for his terrible shooting.

Although Russ has disappointed this season, he is not solely responsible for the Lakers’ tragedy this season. Anthony Davis was injury prone all season and the team’s aging roster caused them problems.

Furthermore, there is only so much a 37-year-old LeBron James can do. James averaged 30.3 points, 8.2 rebounds and 6.2 assists this season. 

With Westbrook facing the flak all season, it seems the fans cannot get enough of Brodie even after the season has ended.
