“He Doesn’t Know the Game Yet”: Former All Star Doubles Down on Bizarre Giannis Antetokounmpo Disrespect with Russell Westbrook and Dwight Howard Examples

Giannis Antetokounmpo might be an NBA champ but Gilbert Arenas still thinks he hasn’t developed his game yet. The former Wizards star recently said that the “Greek Freak” hasn’t yet fully developed his understanding of basketball and hasn’t improved his play despite being dominant over the past few seasons. This opinion of his has received criticism from a lot of quarters; from players like Goran Dragic to Milwaukee fans, no one has spared Arenas.

The former NBA player had to explain his opinion again on his podcast, “No Chill with Gilbert Arenas”. His co-host Josiah Johnson was disappointed by his take because he is a Bucks fan. Arenas also reminded him that his father too works for the franchise.

Arenas clarified his position by saying, “When I say he hasn’t developed, I’m not talking about the physical part. You get that when you get older. Going in the weight room, lift. So, he did a great job on his body.” He continued. ” When I say getting smarter, he doesn’t know the game yet. Right now, he’s playing the game all physical. It’s all a physical game for him.“. He compared Giannis’ game to Dwight Howard and Russell Westbrook.

According to Arenas, Giannis has to understand rules, time management, and understanding the game within the game. The former player emphasized the mental part of the sport. He thinks that Giannis has a lot of untapped potential if he starts to understand the game. Arenas said that he became no.1 or 2 by just playing a physical game.

Giannis Antetokounmpo proved those criticisms wrong last year

This take has baffled many. Giannis had to win the 2021 NBA trophy with one good knee. He had to miss Games 5 and 6 of the Eastern Conference Finals due to a gruesome hyperextension.

Giannis joined the likes of Jordan and Olajuwon when he won the award as he has not only won the Finals MVP but has also won the regular season MVP and the Defensive Player of the Year previously.
