The entire sports community mourned the death of NBA legend Kobe Bryant. Sports personalities from all around the world expressed their grief and offered condolences. Tennis legend Serena Williams’ husband Alexis Ohanian, the co-founder of Reddit, talked about the one time he met Kobe Bryant. Ohanian spoke in a video made by Angel City FC as a tribute to the Black Mamba on his birthday.

The millionaire investor said he was impressed seeing the “unapologetic love” that Bryant had for his daughters. He praised the NBA star for being a supporting father. As it happens, Ohanian too has a daughter named Olympia, with Serena Williams.

Furthermore, Ohanian talked about Bryant’s intention of entering capital investments. He added that the passion and drive the NBA star showed on the court would come in handy outside the court as well.

Serena Williams, Nike pay tribute to Kobe Bryant

In the short video posted by Ohanian, he said, “As a fellow girl dad, one of the things that always impressed me about Kobe was his unapologetic love for his daughters and how much he championed them and supported them and just how proud he was.

Ohanian concluded the video by saying that the NBA star would be missed. Ohanian’s wife, Serena Williams too paid tribute to Kobe Bryant through a short video made by Nike.

Kobe Bryant’s memorial service

A public memorial service took place at Staples Center for Kobe Bryant and his daughter Gianna, a month after the helicopter crash. Friends and family of the NBA star attended the memorial that lasted for two hours.

“I’ve been trying to come up with something positive to take away from this, and it was hard because there isn’t much. But the best thing I was able to come up with is this: Gratitude,” Jimmy Kimmel said. “It seems to me that all we can do is to be grateful for the time we had with them and for the time we have left with each other,” the talk-show host added.

Fellow NBA great and close friend Michael Jordan gave a touching speech as well, he said, “I promise you from this day forward, I will live with the memories of knowing that I had a little brother and I tried to help in every way I could.”

“Please, rest in peace little brother,” he concluded.
