The Golden State Warriors have been ballin’ this season. Currently seeded 2nd in the Western Conference, the Warriors are now 34-13 after their most recent win over the Utah Jazz. However, for Curry, it won’t be a game to remember as he finished the game with 13 points shooting 5-20 from the field, including 1-13 from the three-point line.
It was after the game against the Jazz that Curry answered questions from the media regarding his shooting slump. What could be seen in his responses was his confidence and belief in his ability, and an awareness of what the big picture is for this season – a championship.

“Who gives a damn about excuses?” said Curry when asked if there was something going on with his shot mechanics.
“You either make shots or you miss shots. So, I’m gotta start making some shots,” added Curry.
When further questioned about how his hands felt, the ‘Baby-Faced Assassin’ gave a witty reply saying “They’re still attached to my body. Still gettin’ up plenty of attempts.”
Curry would go on to add about the big picture perspective of the work that he put in, admitting that his slump was creating frustration for him, but was not something to dwell on. Thereafter, he reminded the audience that his shooting, although mattered to the team’s success, wasn’t the only thing important thing about his game and was not to be worried about.

I love this man. He knows he's been shit be every standard we hold him to and yet he's not trying to give some sorry ass "I'm not 100% in my wrists or knees" excuse.
One homie down in LA would site health and safety protocols at the slightest chance 😂 https://t.co/u0DiLdZvGo— Preacher's Kid🎤 (@glynx7) January 24, 2022
Several other fans showed respect to Curry on Twitter. They were inspired by the man who took ownership of his mistakes and exhibited true leadership.
This is why he’s my favorite player of all time (basketball). Doesn’t give excuses, takes ownership of things he’s doing wrong and the fact that he’s not playing well, unlike other superstars in the league… https://t.co/resDeQT22K

Furthermore, some fans took to admitting Curry’s slump as human nature and their belief in him to bounce back, thereby not discounting his ability.
Literally loved this interview cuz he knows he’s doing bad (Shooting wise) we also saw him a bit angry and I loved that, I hope he finally breaks out this upcoming week especially since all games are gonna be big game (I think he won’t at least not now) But hope he does we’ll see pic.twitter.com/MlBFJ0QiB3

Stephen Curry’s Stats So Far
A shooting slump is not an indicator of future performances. As Curry rightly mentioned, a player can contribute to the team in several other ways. One of the ways by which he has contributed is through his assists. Upon combining the points created by his assists, and the points he has scored, ‘Chef Curry’ contributes to 34.3% of what the Warriors have scored totally so far this season.

Despite the slump, Curry currently averages 26 PPG, which is the third highest among all guards in the league. Added to this, he also averages 1.4 steals – the highest for the Warriors alongside Draymond Green.
Regardless of what happens, Steph Curry realizes the importance of his shooting ability, and recognizes how he can contribute to his team in other ways apart from shooting. Additionally, what makes him a fan-favourite is his leadership and accountability.
