Giannis Antetokounmpo has become one of the most beloved and feared players in the league today. Hailing from Greece, the forward has had a substantial rise to stardom. Coming into the league as a scrawny kid, the Greek Freak is now an abomination. Drafted in 2013 by the Milwaukee Bucks it’s hard to believe that the 7-footer has already spent 10 years in the league. The 2x MVP reminisced about his dreams as a rookie and how much is still left to achieve for the 28-year-old.

Always voicing strong views like the one he had after the playoff loss this season, Giannis is a man of great conviction. Consequently, with many years left under his belt and a relentless attitude, the 2021 NBA champion can only get better.

Giannis was the 13th overall pick in the 2013 NBA draft. Pretty much unknown when he first moved to America, the 7x All-Star is now a household name. Posting a clip shared by ESPN on Instagram, Giannis can be seen prophesying his career.

Talking about his future self, a younger Antetokounmpo states the kind of player he will be. Sharing the clip on Instagram Stories, Giannis boasted, “I said it, I did it. We are halfway through this journey long way to go still.

The clip which has resurfaced on the internet multiple times before shows a young Giannis during an interview. He’s firstly asked about his personal information and whereabouts. Then the reporter questioned him, “What is your goal for your career?” to which Giannis, in broken English, replied, “I want to be a NBA player.

Already 10 years into being one Giannis has spoken his dreams into existence. The tall and lanky kid who was like a stick when he entered the league even predicted his transformation. Replying to the reporter who asked him about the kind of player he would be, Giannis stated. “I will be much stronger; I will be much better in everything I do.” A statement he never forgot. The Greek Freak made headlines a couple of months ago after his brilliant take on failure.

Giannis Antetokounmpo and his strong opinions

Giannis has cemented himself as a fan favorite amongst the NBA faithful. A humorous man, the Bucks star is critical when needed. Sounding off the media after they deemed his season a failure despite finishing 1st in the ECF, Giannis earned praise from the whole arold for his answer.

He said, “It?s a wrong question, there?s no failure in sports. There are good days, bad days. Some days you?re able to be successful, some days you?re not.”?Hollywood stars like Michael B. Jordan and Kevin Hart joined the world in applauding the 28-year-old.

A two-time MVP winner, the fame has not changed Giannis. In fact, it has given him the liberty to become who he really wants to be. With him prophesying that he is only halfway through, we can only hope that the joyous man continues to play for another 10 years.
