The Yeezy shoes were arguably the biggest asset for Adidas in terms of sneakers. Led by Kanye West, the shoes took birth with Nike. Kanye West took a big hit because of his recent antisemitic antics. Notably, the Donda artist lost his biggest deal with Adidas. The three stripes were home to his iconic sneaker, the Yeezy. A multi-billion dollar brand, West apparently lost over $600 million after cutting ties with the German brand. However, before them, West was the man for Nike. His breakup with the swoosh made headlines. Being himself, he took some digs at the brand in his track ‘Facts’.

However, he even dragged Michael Jordan into the mess. And since then, the popular music sensation believes His Airness holds a grudge.

Why Michael Jordan won’t meet Kanye West

MJ’s NBA career showed just how far the Hall of Famer could go in the name of rivalry. Any minor incident would be enough for the six-time champion to hold a grudge. Feeding off of the anger, Jordan would often stalk his victims. And that hasn’t changed even after his retirement. When Kanye West spoke against his 4.7 billion dollar Jordan brand, Air Jordan took it personally.

When asked about it last year, the 45-year-old revealed Michael Jordan refuses to be in the same room as him due to his song lyrics. West revealed on the Drink Champs podcast “I’m trying to meet with Michael Jordan. I’m like, ‘Man! It’s a song, man!'”

Their feud has been popular for several years. However, what many might not know is West’s lyrics were accurate and wrong at the same time. In his song, he said, “Yeezy, Yeezy, Yeezy, just jumped over Jumpman”. In 2015, West’s hit shoe, the Yeezy Boost 350 was the best sneaker. Hence, he had the edge over Michael Jordan that year. However, no one can jump higher than Jumpman when it comes to sales. West’s Yeezy was an undeniable success selling $1.7 billion worth of shoes. But Jordan was on a completely different metric totaling $4.7 billion by 2021.
