Memphis Grizzlies star Ja Morant has a massive fan following across the world. With electrifying dunks and out-of-the-world plays, Morant is loved by fans of the Grizzlies and also rival teams. However, his recent actions have brought in a lot of hate and backlash. It was reported that Morant apparently pulled out a gun and also punched a teenager last year. With this news doing the rounds of the internet, various media personalities across the NBA world have chimed in to give their two cents. Charles Barkley and Ernie Johnson recently gave their take on the whole situation.

Talking on the All The Smoke podcast, the two media personalities delved into issues surrounding the sports world. While talking about Ja Morant, Barkley held nothing back and advised the NBA All-Star to ‘grow up’.

Former Rookie of the Year Ja Morant is all over the news for all the unfortunate reasons. According to police records obtained by Washington Post, Morant punched a 17-year-old during a basketball game last summer. Moreover, it seems he also had a visible gun strapped onto his waist during this altercation.

Talking about the issue, Barkley delved into how Morant must ‘grow up’. He also asserted that someone needs to sit down with the 2021-22 NBA Most Improved Player and talk some sense into him.

Barkley said, “You and your friends got to grow up and not do this crazy stuff. Yo, I don’t care where you grew up or who your friends were man, you’re not that guy anymore. You’re one of the best basketball players in the world, you got a lot at stake every single day of your life.”

The NBA Hall of Famer further added, “you are probably gonna make half a billion dollars to a billion dollars in the next 10-15 years and you are out here punching teenagers and pulling a gun on them. You can’t do that!”

A few weeks prior to this incident, Morant’s friend was banned from home games after an apparent altercation outside the Indiana Pacers arena which also involved a firearm.

Despite all the backlash and the hate he is receiving for the gun incident, it seems Ja Morant is unperturbed. During a recent Instagram live stream, fans noticed something very odd.

The Grizzlies star was partying in a club while flashing a gun. Moreover, he also pulled off a gun celebration during the game against the Houston Rockets recently.
