Michael Jordan is probably the greatest player of all time to play the game of basketball. Getting compared with him is an achievement of its own. And the late Kobe Bryant got the honor of this achievement.
The former player cum coach, Tyronn Lue, made statements praising the late player. Tyronn Lue, recently in a podcast with JJ Redick, revealed that the work ethic of Kobe Bryant shocked him. He found a great level of similarities between Kobe and Jordan.

Everybody knows that an immeasurable amount of dedication and discipline is required just to play the game at the professional level. Without that, one could not sustain for a long time. And Kobe not only played the game but also became one of the best in the business. His work ethic and discipline were what made him the Kobe Bryant people knew.
Tyronn Lue got to witness this as he got to play with him. When asked what made Kobe different from all the other players, Lue said, ‘Just the way he worked’. He found himself mesmerized by the way Kobe trained.
At the age of 19-20, Kobe impressed him so much that Lue was bound to make him compare with the great Michael Jordan. Lue said, “He was 19-20 years old when I was on the team. And just having a routine and coming in at seven o’clock in the morning before everyone get there, gets his lifts in, gets his workout in.”
Lue added, “A lot of guys think, I can’t practice I gotta play, no, like Michael Jordan had 40 practice every single day, Doug Collins had to try kick him on the floor he wouldn’t leave.”
Having also played with MJ, Lue knew how dedicated Jordan was even at the age of 40. He found a great level of dedication, discipline, and determination between them toward the game.

Finally, he went on to say how the thorough dedication and discipline of players like LeBron James, Michael Jordan, and Kobe Bryant differentiated them from the other players in the game.

Kobe Bryant was probably one of the greatest players to play the game of basketball. In a career span of 20 years and with a career average of 25 points, 5.2 assists, and 4.7 rebounds, he was a monster on his own.
