The top teams from the East and the West went at each other for a tough matchup. The Mavericks beat the Bucks, 118-112. This was an interesting match between the best international players in the league. Both the teams have clinched a playoff berth in their respective conference.

Doncic and Giannis both put up a show, though Doncic generated more than half the points for the Mavs. Fans went crazy as Luka put up a highlight play. Doncic proved yet again that his signature move is unguardable.

Luka Doncic destroys Antetokounmpo’s tough defense

With only 3 minutes into the fourth quarter, Doncic had Giannis guarding him. Antetokounmpo is a great defender, though sometimes not as good on the perimeter. Luka played like it was a mismatch for him, as he crossed Giannis with his signature step back three. The step back was followed by nothing but net swish. Giannis had recovered well and put up a great contest, but Doncic had no problem with his high arcing shot. The swish had the fans in a frenzy.

This shot put Mavericks up by 2, with nine minutes to close out.? As the Mavs continued extending their lead over the Bucks. Luka finished the game with 32 points, 8 rebounds, and a whopping 15 assists, generating more than 62 points. Whereas, the MVP candidate Giannis put up 28 points, 10 rebounds, and 2 assists.

The Bucks tried their best to make a late comeback, but the Mavs‘ offense was too hard to handle. Dwight Powell had shared 22 points and 13 rebounds, a fantastic performance by the role player, whose average stats include 8 points and 4 rebounds a game.

How far can Luka Doncic lead the Mavericks in the playoffs?

If the playoffs were to start today, the Mavericks would face the Nuggets. This matchup would be fun to watch. Nikola Jokic, who is an MVP candidate will be the primary offense for the Nuggets, as apart from him only 3 players are averaging more than 10 points. Whereas Luka who’s averaging 28 points and 9 rebounds will be looking to lead his team.

Though after the first round the Mavs might take on the Warriors or the Jazz, both being a tough matchup for Luka and the Mavericks.
