Kevin Love has found great success in the NBA. The former All-Star has been in the NBA for a long time, and at one point was one of the biggest names in the league. In 2014, Love went to the Cleveland Cavaliers to join forces with LeBron James and Kyrie Irving. Two years later, Love became an NBA champion, being part of the team that overturned a 3-1 deficit in the finals. He cemented his place in history, being part of one of the best trios ever.

Kevin Love talks LeBron James

Love spoke to Yahoo Sports recently. He was asked about why he is still with the Cleveland Cavaliers. Love noted that he still feels he has a lot to offer to the team. He is a veteran in the NBA and has solid playoff experience. Furthermore, Love has played with several great players in the NBA, and even possibly the greatest player of all time in LeBron James.

Love said, “When I am available and playing at a high level, I feel like I could be that guy that pushes the team really over the edge, puts them into contention, a guy that has playoff experience has played with some of the greatest players if not the greatest player of all time in LeBron James.”

Love’s comments come as no surprise. He found his greatest success in the NBA while playing with LeBron James. While Love was playing great basketball with the Minnesota Timberwolves, he wasn’t getting much tangible success. When he joined the Cavaliers, it immediately made the franchise a contender. However, the success wasn’t immediate for Love and the Cavaliers.

James, Love, and Irving became champions

Kevin Love missed his first NBA Finals in 2015 due to an injury. He missed the entire series, as the Cavaliers lost to the Golden State Warriors. The next season, Love was fit and went to the NBA Finals again. He, LeBron James, and the Cleveland Cavaliers fell behind 3-1 to the Warriors. However, the Cavaliers were able to rally, thanks to the efforts of James, Irving and, Love, and they went on to win an NBA championship.

Can Kevin Love find more playoff success with the Cleveland Cavaliers? They are set to miss the playoffs once again this year. However, the Cavaliers are a team that is clearly in a rebuild, and perhaps Love doesn’t fit those plans anymore. LeBron James on the other hand is currently out injured. He was an MVP contender earlier this season, averaging solid numbers.
