But off the court, James has been equally productive. James joined Fenway Sports Group, along with his partner Maverick Carter, to become part owners of the Boston Red Sox.

LeBron James spoke in a press conference after the Lakers won their game against the Minnesota Timberwolves. When asked about his reaction to joining FSG, James was extremely happy. He and Maverick Carter are very excited to be involved with them and the Boston Red Sox franchise, whose history James is very familiar with.

“First of all, it’s great to be with such a great group with FSG. Just that collective group of people, they’re just amazing to be partners with. As far as the Red Sox, obviously a historical franchise and we know the history of the World Series they’ve brought back home to Boston and the players that’s come through there and the legacy that they hold in that area.”
‘The King’ wants to be an NBA franchise owner

James spoke about his ambition to be an NBA team owner in the future, stating he wants to follow in the footsteps of his idol, Michael Jordan, and became the owner of an NBA franchise. He believes that his experience as a player in the NBA will set him up nicely to be an owner. He also added that he sees it happening in the near future.
“I’ve always said that my goal is to own an NBA team. I’ve got so much to give to the game. I know what it takes to win at this level. Know talent, know how to run a business as well. That is my goal. My goal is to own an NBA franchise. It’ll be sooner than later.”

Will LeBron James become an owner of an NBA franchise? It appears James has already begun venturing into team ownership. Along with his deal with FSG, James is also a minority owner of English Premier League champions Liverpool FC, who are also owned by Fenway Sports Group. But an NBA franchise still remains the priority for King James.
