Fans all around the sports world love to repeatedly ask one question at all times, Who’s the greatest athlete of All Time? While there are many answers to the question, fans generally expect their favorites to be named in the discussion. Over the years, it has become clear that there is often a lack of neutral perspective in this debate. However, it turns out that even when an unbiased take is generated taking all sides into account, the answer can’t please everyone. In fact, when golf fans found out that a list containing Michael Jordan didn’t feature Tiger Woods, they went into an absolute frenzy.
Michael Jordan appeared in the list containing many legends, including Hockey icon Wayne Gretzky. However, the absence of Tiger Woods from the list was a shocker to many. Given Jordan and Gretzky’s well-known passion for golf, some fans might assume that they would also oppose the list. Meanwhile, recently, a rare photo of His Airness and the hockey legend surfaced on the Internet, hours after the whole fiasco, reminding everyone of the duo’s love for golf.

ChatGPT is an AI-based chatting interface that provides users with objective answers to complex questions, or at least it tries to. Hence, when people at FanDuelTV typed in the pressing ‘GOAT’ question, they expected an answer that’d end all debates.
Alas, that wasn’t the case. The list contained names of some of the most accomplished sportspersons ever, but snubbed the golfing legend Tiger Woods. As a result, the Twitterverse blew up with irked reactions, as many called the list ‘trash’. Meanwhile, others provided detailed reasons why Woods was deserving to be in the top 10 list, alongside other legends.
Jordan and Gretzky, who were ranked first and seventh on the list respectively, would probably agree with the sentiment expressed by the fans. The duo’s love for golf is evident, as confirmed by a recently surfaced picture of them playing 18 holes at the Mario Lemieux Celebrity Invitational in 1999 in Pittsburgh.

The legends can be seen smiling while enjoying a jolly time on a sunny day at the golf course. However, one can safely assume that it wasn’t the first time Jordan walked with Gretzky while holding golf clubs. There are numerous anecdotes of the Chicago Bulls legend inviting fellow legends for a friendly yet fiercely competitive game of golf.

A few weeks ago, in a recent podcast episode of The Steam Room, Barkley mentioned how he realized the ‘craziness’ of MJ when the Bulls legend played 36 holes of golf before playing a game with his national team. Moreover, in 2019, NHL icon Jeremy Roenick recalled a time in 1992, when Jordan bet thousands of dollars in a golf game, and drank beers, all before dropping 44 points against the Cleveland Cavaliers later in the evening.
