Only months ago, the Golden State Warriors held up the Larry O’Brien trophy. However, the start of this season couldn’t have been any more different. Notably, not only is Stephen Curry injured, but the Bay are below .500 after 33 games into the season. Their last stop on the road ended with a humiliating loss to the Brooklyn Nets. Likewise, the question about their current state was all over the headlines. And Steve Kerr didn’t hold back. After the blowout loss, the Warriors’ head coach gave a stark reality check, which might raise concerns among the Dub Nation.
After last night’s loss to the Nets, the reigning champions fell to 15-18 for the season. In the current scenario, the Warriors are out of the play-in picture. There have been flashes of the?Curry-led side being one of the most lethal basketball teams in the NBA. However, that hasn’t been enough to uphold their status as champions. The Bay is already short-handed after losing out on the Baby Face Assassin for a few weeks due to a shoulder injury.

Likewise, their offense went stagnant in the absence of Kerr’s favored weapon. In the span of the last six games on the road, the Golden State Warriors picked up just one win. When asked about what message is sent with the recent losses, an upset Kerr spoke frankly. Notably, he said their record represents their current reality in the league.
Steve Kerr makes honest admission about Stephen Curry and the Warriors
Former Warrior Kevin Durant?led the Nets to a 143-113 win over the Warriors in what was a humiliating end to their road trip. Sitting in the post-game press conference, one reporter asked Kerr to comment on the Warriors’ current position. And his response surprised fans. Notably, the former Chicago Bulls guard said, “You are what your record says you are.”?
This led to the fans going crazy online. They said the reigning champions were “trash”. Moreover, some fans even demanded Kerr fix the situation by resorting to trades during the coming deadline.
Here are some of the reactions from NBA Twitter:

The Golden State Warriors are in a complicated turmoil with Stephen Curry suffering a shoulder injury. Apart from Curry, their remaining offensive pillars, Andrew Wiggins and Klay Thompson are also dealing with injuries of their own. Losing out on a majority of their offense, the Warriors will certainly have to rely on their role players to take over. However, that arguably hasn’t worked out in their favor just yet.
On the other end of the court, they still lack a defensive anchor. While Draymond Green is great on the defensive end, he is possibly past his prime now. The Warriors made headlines by looking into players such as Jae Crowder to add to their defensive unit. With the trade deadline approaching, the defending champions might have to make changes to their roster to induce a reverse in their fortune this season.
