Steph Curry was just a 10-year-old kid by the time Michael Jordan had won six NBA Championships. In fact, his father Dell Curry was playing for the Hornets (now an MJ-owned franchise) during those days in mid-1998. And now, the same kid has grown up and reached new heights to have the opportunity to interview the legend himself.

The occasion was the Ryder Cup 2021 at Wisconsin where Curry and MJ were present on Day 1. Rooting for Team USA, both the NBA stars started their day by showing their support for different American duos but later sat down together. So what was their meeting about?

When the picture of Air Jordan and the GSW leader sitting face to face came out, the internet went bonkers. People joked about how the two must have been bonding over owning LeBron James. But the reality was quite different, as the highly-respected athletes really spoke about things not even remotely related to Bron.

‘The Baby Faced Assassin’ interviewed MJ discussing his 20+ years’ history with the Ryder Cup, competing on the biggest stages, and other things. While the interview is yet to go live, here is how the Warriors leader shared his amusement.

Pay attention to how he called MJ the GOAT and cleared the air that he has his favorite in the greatest of all-time debate.

When the GSW leader channeled his inner Michael Jordan

MJ might or might not see Steph Curry as a Hall of Famer, but the latter has learned a lot from his idol over the years. During the 2020-21 season, Blazers’ Damian Lillard had made a comment regarding Curry, suggesting that he is no more the player he was 4-5 years ago. In their very next game, the Assassin dropped a career-high 62 points.

Later in the post-game conference, Curry revealed that he channeled that competitiveness from MJ. The 3x Champion made the following statement, “The Jordan meme, right. I take all that personally.”

So interviewing MJ was Curry’s opportunity to learn more from the legend. Reportedly, they also discussed how golf is the toughest mental sport, how the team-first motto draws a parallel with the NBA, and which player does MJ sees as his successor.
