Things have started to heat up between Warriors star Draymond Green and ESPN analyst Kendrick Perkins following Warriors vs Grizzlies game 6 yesterday at Chase Center.

The two went back and forth with each other after the Golden State Warriors sealed a spot in the Western Conference finals defeating the Memphis Grizzlies 110-86.

A lot of critics chastised the Warriors after their blowout loss against Memphis on Wednesday. Kendrick Perkins was one of them.

In fact, he warned that Golden State might get swept by Phoenix if they meet in the Conference finals. He also said that the current Warriors are a shadow of their former selves.

Draymond Green addresses Kendrick Perkins

While pointing out the flaws in their game, the former Celtics center said that Draymond Green is afraid to shoot the ball. He also advised against taking Green’s opinions at face value, “Don’t let Draymond Green sit up here and fool y’all like everything come outta his mouth is the Gospel.”

‘Big Perk’ also added that Green’s assists were actually flimsy passes anybody could throw. He should’ve shot those balls instead of passing.

Draymond Green responded in the post-game press conference saying, “You got a big ogre on TV talking about what Draymond say ain’t the Gospel. It is the Gospel. What I say is the Gospel.”

Green called out Perkins by name and said, “You gotta come out and shut some guys up sometimes“.

Perkins clapped back calling Green “ugly”, “You ain’t handsome, you damn sure ain’t cute“.

The former Celtics Big Man also added that he will continue to speak his mind on TV. He will not let anybody influence his opinions.

The Warriors march on to the Western Conference finals

The Warriors defeated the Grizzlies in yesterday’s game 6 to book a spot in the Conference finals. They await the winners of the Suns vs Mavericks game 7 matchup on Sunday.

Draymond Green scored just 5 points with 2-of-4 shooting in the game 5 blowout loss against the Grizzlies. In game 6, he bagged 14 points, 8 assists, and 15 boards, with 6-14 shooting to help his team close the deal.

The Warriors were a dominant force in the NBA till 2019. After that, injuries ravaged their entire roster, and they fell off from the graces of the basketball gods.

Only a championship can prove to the doubters that the Warriors dynasty is back. And they have the same championship pedigree as before.
