The Warriors have finally made it back to the Finals. All of this was possible only because of the performance and improvement of young players. The Warriors’ front office has always made smart decisions that led to their success in the past 7 years. Stephen Curry was drafted in 2009, and after a while, the Warriors let Monta Ellis go so as to prioritize Steph’s game.
Their trades and drafts help the organization touch new heights and ultimately win championships. After 12 years, Golden State is in a somewhat similar situation. This time they have to decide between two young talents who will benefit them in the future after the big three call their career.

Currently, there are 3 players who are playing on a max contract. Stephen Curry, Klay Thompson, and Draymond Green have signed max contracts. Poole’s max contract will be in an $80 million range, according to cap experts, but the Dubs will struggle during the 2023-24 season. With Poole’s max contract on the table and the other three max contracts as well, the Warriors will be paying a total of $142 million to 4 of their players.
It will get extremely tough for the Warriors to adjust Wiggins under this condition. Other than Wiggins, there are players like Kuminga that the Warriors would want to keep for the long term. With the Warriors’ home court, Chase Center bringing in fortune for the organization, it will still be a tough decision to either keep the 28-year-old or the two young talents under the age of 25 for their future runs.
