Russell Westbrook is a 13-year veteran in the NBA. He is one of the best guards in his prime and, moreover, one of the most effective ones. Russ West is one of the greats by all means.
However, this season he has not been close to the quality he possesses by any means. All the criticism has actually been the harsh truth that Russ has been severely underperforming. Though all this was put to hold when he showed his class once again.

Westbrook has been getting the amount of criticism because of the quality he has shown over the years and fans were delighted to see that class back on the court.
Russell Westbrook – GOATed
Russ was on the money in the clash against the Raptors as he forced the game into overtime. His movement, athleticism, and speed in the dying seconds gave us a throwback of what kind of player he was in his prime. He might be past his prime and out of form, but he can still produce moments of pure class.
A confident Westbrook doesn’t disappoint on the court, just as he never disappoints in the post-match interviews.

The reporter asked how Russ maintains the belief to keep trying shots, even though he has been missing the mark a lot. Russell Westbrook hit him with an easy 7-word answer. “I got 23,000 points. How about that?” The fans obviously loved it!

Absolutely. His longevity in the league means he hasn’t been the worst shooter in the league this season

He's saying he's scored a lot in this league and thats why he doesn't lose confidence after missing shots

he makes a pretty good point, I don't think hes really any less talented than other years, hes just not in a good fit schematically and its taking a toll on parts of his game, shooting being the biggest struggle for him which makes sense since hes struggling to fit into the flow

Talk that Talk Russ. Sure he’s got his flaws as a player & he’s had a bad season but when it’s all said and done he will be a top 15-20 scorer of all time, top 10 in assists & his teams are 153-41 when he gets a triple double. Wouldn’t be the only player AND MVP without a chip.

Westbrook hit an insane shot to send the game to OT, only to get questioned about a bad miss the shot before? C’mon, this is getting ridiculous.

The perfect answer for that dumb question.

Russ West has over 23,000 points and he oozes class. The player with the most triple-doubles in history is not an ordinary player. His career has been sparkling. Even without an NBA championship, he is a part of the NBA 75th Anniversary team. A player like that can not be down for long.
Against the Raptors, Russ had 22 points, 10 rebounds, and 10 assists. A pretty good game considering the criticism he has been a subject to because of the form he has been in. That equalizer to send the game to OT and the Lakers eventually emerging victorious 128-123 was just what they desperately needed.
