Plenty has been said and revealed about the late Kobe Bryant, after his horrific death in a helicopter crash last year along with his daughter Gianna and seven others. However, most of it has been about his greatness as an NBA player. And now it’s time that everyone appreciates what the Lakers legend pulled off the court as well.

More than anyone else, his wife Vanessa Bryant understands all that Kobe achieved outside of the NBA.  So recently, after her late husband’s recent business accomplishment, she couldn’t help but congratulate him on Instagram.

Kobe Bryant made his family millions with one smart investment

Kobe Bryant has left the world but his legacy is sure to continue taking care of his family for years to come. Of course, it is his aura on the court that people miss, but fans need to remember him for his smart business dealings as well. Unlike most NBA stars, he saw success in almost every field that he invested in, which includes a popular sports drink.

In 2014, the Lakers legend decided to show his faith in a sports drink called BodyArmor by investing in it. Kobe bought around 10% of the drink, which was valued at $6 million. As luck would have it, the company decided to sell to Coca-Cola at an $8 billion valuation. This led to the Bryant family earning around $400M, thanks to this sound investment.

Vanessa Bryant expressed her love and support

Kobe’s wife Vanessa has never missed an opportunity to keep her husband’s memory alive. So, when the big news made headlines, she had to show the world how proud she is of Kobe. She posted a picture of Kobe posing with the BodyArmor energy drinks and wrote, “Congratulations Papi!!! This is “no pie in the sky”. You did it! Always one step ahead.”

“I’m so proud of everything you were able to accomplish. I wish you were here to celebrate. You deserve all the recognition for this. You continue being GREAT. Te amo per siempre. Congratulations Kobe, Mike Repole & DrinkArmour Team. Kobe Bryant, you are the GOAT in everything you put your mind to,” she added.

Bryant’s legacy speaks for itself. For most, the memory of him will largely remain limited to his championships and prowess on the court. But those who saw him for more than just an NBA player will remember what he accomplished off it. There isn’t anything that can make up for Kobe’s absence for his family, but he did make sure to fend for them for as long as he possibly can.
