Looney’s initial days with Steph Curry and co. were characterized by a struggle to fit in. The then rookie found it hard to decipher the mighty Stephen Curry and his intentions on the court.
It took Looney 16 games in the G-league and numerous strenuous practice sessions to cope with the unexpected nature of Steph’s game plans.?“?I definitely did feel like I earned a graduate degree when I figured it out,” said the 3 x NBA champion, alluding to the process of deciphering the Baby-faced assassin.
Kevon Looney then adapted to the playing style of the mighty Warriors and went on to win three rings. After earning his stripes, Looney became a favourite of his teammates. Draymond Green’s latest gesture validates his affection for the then rookie who worked his way up. Following the Warriors’ back-to-back triumphs in their recent games, Looney took to Instagram with a set of pictures featuring him and his side in action.

The Warriors icon Draymond Green was quick to acknowledge his teammate’s Instagram post. Dray shared Looney’s post that features him and Looney on his Instagram story. “I will go to the trenches with Toon any and everyday,” the 4x-NBA champion wrote on his story. Dray’s wholesome message proves that Kevon Looney has come a long way from a clueless rookie to a seasoned Warrior. The young star might not have thought when he was struggling to decipher Steph, that he will see a day when fellow Warriors stars will be ready to walk with him to the trenches.
