There has been a ton of speculation about Russell Westbrook’s place in the Los Angeles Lakers. The Lakers have spent the entire off-season to find a deal to send Westbrook away but are unable to do so. But despite this, the $47.1 million earning Westbrook finally broke his silence and committed to LeBron James and the Lakers.

The last season was an absolute disaster for the Lakers as their experiment with Westbrook failed miserably. Westbrook underperformed massively, and he was blamed as the main reason for their season. Recently, there have been calls from fans for Russell Westbrook to be traded away, however, the Lakers have held on to him so far.

And despite massive uncertainty, Westbrook seems to commit to the Los Angeles Lakers for the upcoming season.

With the season fast approaching, teams have already started their preparations. The Lakers have started their mini-training camp. Despite this, Westbrook’s role is still undefined. But this doesn’t seem to be bothering Westbrook as he is committed for the start of next season.

Brodie said, “I don’t need to. I need to just do my job. Whether I’m wanted or not doesn’t really matter. I think the most important thing is that I show up for work and I do the job like I’ve always done it: Be professional and go out and play my a** off and compete.”

“I’m all-in on whatever it takes for this team to win. I’m prepared for whatever comes my way. There’s so much optimism on how we can be great, how AD, LeBron, myself — can be unstoppable in my opinion,” he added.

Despite all the noise from the outside world, Westbrook has committed to giving everything to this team. And with the season looming, it is looking more and more likely that Westbrook will remain with the Lakers. And despite competition for places with the addition of Patrick Beverley and Dennis Schroder, Westbrook is not ready to give up anytime soon.
