The Los Angeles Lakers is one of the most celebrated franchises in the NBA. Being at the heart of California, the franchise attracts celebrities like no other. It becomes obvious that some of the biggest stars on the planet are Laker fans. In that long lineup of A-list celebrities – rapper, actor and record producer Snoop Dogg stands tall. The 51-year-old superstar, born and brought up in Long Beach bleeds purple and gold and represents his team every chance he gets.

The Dogg Father recently sat down for a conversation on The Pivot Podcast where he discussed his team and his sporting heroes. The Grammy-nominated rapper also recalled the gift he gave to the late great Kobe Bryant as a token of appreciation.

Kobe played for the Lakers throughout his 20-year-long career. Needless to say, that the late legend is on the elite list of superstars that have represented the Lakers franchise. He is widely regarded as one of the greatest basketball players of all time and the Laker fans celebrated him like one as well.

So how can you honor arguably the greatest Laker to ever live? It’s simple, gifting him a customized car with all the Lakers legends imprinted on it. Snoop did just that. The legendary rapper relived his fanboy moment around the Black Mamba as he gifted a customized ’64 Chevy Impala to the 5x NBA champion.

Snoop on The Pivot Podcast was addressing all his cars parked in the garage. Then he pointed at his “Laker car” and said that this is the second one as he gave the first one to Kobe. Bigg Snoop said “My other one I gave to Kobe Bryant before he passed away. He came to my spot, he picked it up, took it back. So, I had to make me another one, because I gave him that one.” Later in the podcast, Snoop came back to the topic of his Laker car.

While the hosts of the podcast Channing Crowder, Fred Taylor & Ryan Clark, all NFL stars were complimenting Snoop’s new Laker car, he said the one he gifted to Kobe was even better.

The Death Row Records owner said “The other one I gave Kobe, it was like this Impala, but it had all of the great Lakers on the back of it. I had Kareem, Cooper, and they all signed it.” Makes total sense why Kobe was interested in that particular car. From a huge Laker fan himself, that must have been a great gift for the late legend.
