Rafael Nadal cruised to his record 14th French Open title. Giannis Antetokounmpo will undoubtedly celebrate this tremendous victory since he adores the tennis star. Nadal gained a huge fan in the Greek Freak when he captured the 2020 French Open title as well. Giannis openly expressed his love for the Spanish legend, all while shattering Nick Kyrgios’ heart into pieces.
Antetokounmpo alerted Kyrgios of his newfound love through a video sent to him by fellow countryman and Greek tennis star Stefanos Tsitsipas.
“Nick you were my favorite like tennis athlete, player, whatever it’s called,” Giannis said. “But, now it’s Nadal because I just love him, I love him, sorry.”

Nick Kyrgios, however, took this quite sportingly and even posted this video on his Instagram. The Australian star even invited the Milwaukee Bucks standout to shoot some hoops with him.
“Giannis Antetokounmpo and Stefanos Tsitsipas play too much,” Kyrgios wrote in the caption.“Gotta get Stef to be able to shoot so we can ball.”
Antetokounmpo later admitted in the comments that he was messing with the tennis player. Nobody, however, can blame the former 2-time MVP for adoring a legend like Nadal.

Giannis is currently on a vacation in his home country, Greece, with his family. Given his love for the tennis player, though, he most probably took out the time to witness Nadal glide to the French Open crown.
While Nadal triumphed, Giannis Antetokounmpo and the Bucks’ season ended in disarray
Giannis Antetokounmpo’s favorite player won, but he and the Bucks got stuck in the mud in the playoffs this year. Despite looking solid during the regular season, their quest to defend their 2021 NBA title was stopped by the Boston Celtics.
The Bucks concluded the regular season as the 3rd seed in the Eastern Conference, indicating that they had a fairly successful season. In the playoffs, though, injuries to crucial players and limited scoring options knocked the Bucks to their knees. The unavailability of Khris Middleton weighed down the Bucks throughout their Eastern Conference semifinal series.
Middleton injured the MCL in his left knee during Game 2 of their first-round series against the Chicago Bulls. In his absence, Giannis Antetokounmpo did everything he could to carry his team on his shoulders. He even had the Bucks up 3-2 against the Celtics. They, however, were unable to counter and withstand their opponent’s offensive firepower.
They couldn’t replicate Boston’s 3-point bombardment without Khris Middleton, their most prolific 3-point shooter in the regular season. This was the overarching theme of the matchup, in which the Celtics converted 53 more 3-pointers than the Bucks??(110-57). According to ESPN Stats & Information, this is by far the greatest deficit in a single playoff series in NBA history.
The Celtics made 53 more 3-pointers than the Bucks in this series.
Per @ESPNStatsInfo : that’s the largest differential in 3-pt FG in a single series in NBA postseason history.
