Shaquille O’Neal addressed Kevin Durant’s trade rumors in the latest edition of his Big Podcast. The Big Diesel chimed in on the potential landing spots for the Nets superstar in case of a blockbuster trade that has been on the cards all summer. In addition, Shaq also dispelled some unlikely trade theories involving Kevin Durant and other superstars in the league.

The Brooklyn Nets have been trying to find a suitable destination for KD for a while now, after the 33-year-old guard wanted out some time ago. However, NBA teams have failed to meet the heightened requirements of the Nets’ front office. Therefore, KD’s future in the upcoming season is still pretty uncertain.
Shaquille O’Neal scoffs at the suggestion of a KD-Giannis swap
In the most recent episode of his podcast, Shaquille O’Neal revealed his thought’s on Kevin Durant’s options before the 2022-23 season. As it turns out, the Big Diesel couldn’t think of a suitable destination for the two-time NBA champion.
Meanwhile, co-host Nischelle Turner pointed out that the Minnesota Timberwolves ruined the trading scene by offering five first-round picks for Rudy Gobert. As a result, teams are finding it increasingly difficult to satisfy the inflated demands of a KD deal.
In the meantime, Shaq put forward the proposition of a player swap. Therefore, Turner asked Shaq to name a few superstars that could make such a deal happen. In fact, she suggested the names of Giannis Antetokounmpo and Joel Embiid.
However, Shaq instantly rejected the idea. “I’m not trading my franchise player for another guy,” the Lakers legend declared. “Milwaukee is not giving up Giannis. Philly is not giving up Embiid,” he added.

Meanwhile, the podcast crew seemed to be unable to find a solution to the KD problem. In the end, they reached the conclusion that Brooklyn would be the ideal spot for the 2014 MVP next season.
As things stand now, teams would have to sacrifice their core stability to secure Durant. On the other hand, landing in such a team is not an ideal situation for KD if he intends to contend for a championship next year.
