LeBron James will turn 38 next month, and he must undoubtedly be hoping that the final chapter of his NBA career ends on a high note. However, based on the Los Angeles Lakers’ performances thus far, the glory appears to be far from the team’s grasp. However, not only the fans but even the players seem to perceive this as a serious issue. Furthermore, senior players have reportedly asked the front office to sacrifice first-round picks for some players this season, causing an uproar among NBA fans.

The Lakers have lost nine of their 11 games so far this season and are currently ranked the second bottom in the Western Conference. When you look at the scoreboard following their game, you’ll likely see LeBron James, Anthony Davis, and Russell Westbrook doing all of the heavy work for the team. But that hasn’t proven to be enough so far this season.
It’s fair to argue that, despite the early damage, there’s still a lot the team and front office can accomplish to make a return in the long season ahead.
LeBron James and other core players want the Lakers to sacrifice their future picks
One of the key things that might occur in the franchise is some reinforcements for the roster. According to recent reports, LeBron James and the rest of the Lakers’ core want the franchise to trade their 2027 and 2029 first-round picks this season rather than waste another year. The Los Angeles Lakers front office has been extremely protective of these two choices, refusing to deal with them so far.
NBA Central posted a link to the report on Twitter. And in no time, the news created mayhem among the fans. One of the fans said, “Man I’d get rid of his needy a**! How much help does he need! Every year it’s the same thing “Lebron needs help, Lebron needs shooters”

However, it will be interesting to see what decision the front office makes. Will they keep the same roster? Or give up their future draft selections to give LeBron James and Los Angeles Lakers fans the opportunity for a spectacular season.
