Is there any better sight to see when the future pro ballers from both men’s and women’s categories go at it? And what if one player is a recent NCAA champion and the other a child of a renowned NBA Great? The competitiveness in this case can take flights and we can witness a bundle of talent simultaneously. When fans get to watch young talent develop, it fills them with love for them, and look forward to their journey.

So, how did it go when a high-school sensation and a recent college basketball champ went at it in a practice session? In a workout session with coach Andre Brown, Carmelo Anthony‘s son, Kiyan Anthony took on LSU Tigers’ Flau’jae Johnson and Jayden Wilkins.

Flau’jae showcased some great misdirection dribble moves when Kiyan guarded her. She started by performing one of those moves and got an easy lay-up. Johnson also presented some immaculate side-step jumper moves and her game looked well-rounded. Anthony’s first step was in full flow too and he displayed great finishing moves around the basket, using his left shoulder well to create separation. He also has a decent jumper and can do tough fadeaways, releasing the ball close to his eye line.

Apart from these two intriguing players, Overtime Elite’s Jayden Wilkins also joined the fray. He unveiled a lovely spin move to drain a mid-range jumper, and he looked a shade above Anthony, which can be because of professional experience. Wilkins was also playing serious defense, while Kiyan had a loose demeanor in that regard. While Wilkins and Anthony are still high schoolers, Johnson is already on the college basketball scene.

A big question is if Kiyan Anthony pursues a pro career like Wilkins or if he joins a college basketball scene like his father Carmelo Anthony, who had a Syracuse stint.

Kiyan is just 16, so he has a lot of scope for improvement. Wilkins is just 17 and has been playing at a high level. Meanwhile, the LSU star looks a class above because of her college championship experience. Workouts like these will play a key role in their improvement.
