Stephen Curry is undoubtedly one of the most celebrated NBA athletes of all time. The four-time champion has arguably changed the game forever. The three-point sensation became the almighty king last season after breaking Ray Allen’s long-time three-point record. A storied career like that also makes Curry a man of luxury. However, the future billionaire seems to have an eye for making deductions in his real estate portfolio.

In 2019, the Golden State Warriors moved to the Chase Center which became the new home for the reigning champions. Likewise, Curry had to move. So Curry decided to purchase an $8 million condo closer to the stadium after he started arriving late for practice and even some games due to traffic. However, he pulled out of the deal at the last minute. Instead, the Baby Face Assassin moved to the most expensive city in the USA by purchasing a luxury Atherton mansion for $31 million.

However, troubles seemed to hit early, with the biggest inconvenience being the San Francisco traffic. And it seems the problem was persistent enough for him to eventually sell the lavish property. Recently, the Golden State Warriors superstar sold his luxurious $31 million Atherton mansion for only a small profit.

Stephen Curry lets go of Atherton mansion

According to Dirt, the Golden State Warriors star has quietly sold his Atherton house. The reports suggest Curry sold the property back in 2021. Surprisingly, the prestige of the locality didn’t fetch him much of a return. Notably, his initial $31 million investment only got a $150,000 profit before any associated fees. The specifics of the mansion probably make it look like a bad sale as it was the most expensive property in the area.

The reasons for the sale are still unclear. Moreover, the return on his investment looks like nothing compared to the $31 million price tag. According to the Warriors star, traffic did interrupt his way to the Chase Center. Relocating likely won’t be a problem for the future billionaire, who?is reportedly set to sign a billion-dollar deal with Under Armour, as the brand looks to secure the reigning Finals MVP for life.
