The future of Kevin Durant with the Brooklyn Nets is still hanging in the balance. Recent reports suggested that KD had given owner Joe Tsai an ultimatum. The former MVP has communicated that he is not happy with the direction the franchise is taking. So if Durant is to stay with the Nets, he wants the head coach and the General Manager fired. And it looks like the owner has sided with his GM and coach after his show of support via Twitter. With the saga still not coming to an end, former Warriors veteran Andrew Bogut has a suggestion for Kevin Durant.

Bogut took to Twitter and shared an easy way out for Durant from the Nets. He took a swipe at the club’s owner Joe Tsai owing to his Chinese connections. He said, An easy way for KD to get out of @joetsai1999‘s @BrooklynNets that no NBA analyst is discussing. A simple tweet: “Free Hong Kong, Free Taiwan”. Gone the next day…..

While it is not an ideal option, it might work. And given how outspoken Durant is, it won’t be a shock if he spoke about it. The Australian Andrew Bogut is not an admirer of the Chinese government. He has multiple times spoken against the Chinese government. According to Forbes, Tsai has an estimated net worth of $8.4 billion.

However, this is not the first time an NBA player called out the Nets’ owner. Last year, Enes Kanter Freedom called out Joe Tsai and said that Tsai “is a coward and puppet of the Chinese gov’t”

The struggles of Kevin Durant for the Nets

Kevin Durant struggled and the Brooklyn Nets had a difficult season last year. Even though they made the playoffs, they weren’t able to make a deep run. In fact, they were eliminated in the very first round. It was a comfortable sweep for the Boston Celtics who were one of the finalists. But the manner in which the Nets were brushed aside was humiliating.

In the regular season, KD averaged 29.9 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 6.4 assists per game. He was also shooting with efficiency averaging 51.8% from the field. However, in the series against the Celtics, he averaged 26.3 points per game with an FG% of 38.6. He was also forced to more than 5 turnovers per game.

The physical defense of the Celtics didn’t allow Durant much room to operate. And didn’t allow him to find his rhythm. Furthermore, the struggles of Kyrie Irving added to his misery.

While Irving’s unavailability hampered the team during the regular season, his struggles didn’t help in the playoffs. After the sweep, Kyrie promised that he would return to the Nets. But nothing has materialized so far.
