The Los Angeles Lakers have gone through some serious work in their consecutive overtime wins recently. However, even with the win-streak, the main issue that remains is the return of LeBron James.
The ‘King’ went down with an abdominal injury after some 4th quarter heroics against the Houston Rockets. Since then, LeBron is yet to suit up for the Lake Show. There were rumors that it could be a long-time injury, but that seems to be false as James’ estimated two-week recovery seems to be going great.

LeBron James closer than ever to return
Playing 19 years in the NBA, James has barely had any injury troubles. However, ever since last season, that seems to have changed.
The 4x Champion has already missed six games in the current season because of an ankle injury and then an abdominal strain. But his recovery seems to be going better than expected. This doesn’t come as a surprise with the way LeBron takes care of his body.
Recently, Lakers coach Frank Vogel spoke about his recovery and avoiding the extended stretch. While James won’t be available against the Wolves, Vogel revealed that the ‘King’ is upgraded as day to day.
Frank Vogel had what appears to be a positive update on LeBron:
“His rehab is progressing nicely … this does not seem like it’s (going to be) an extended stretch.”
LeBron will miss a 5th straight game tonight, but Vogel added that he’s “Truly day-to-day.”

With James’ dedication towards his health, there is no doubt he is doing everything to get back on the floor. However, even when not on the court, LeBron James has shown his support to the Lakers by coming to games.

How will the Lakers look after Bron returns?
Prior to their two wins, the Lakers were 1-3 without LeBron. Hence, it is clear that they need the ‘King’ on the floor.
But his return will affect Russell Westbrook, as he won’t be the primary ball handler anymore. Russ has been the facilitator for the last four games which has allowed him to play his way. With LeBron returning, that won’t happen, which could have a negative impact on Westbrook’s attempt to fit in with the team.
