Even the Slim Reaper couldn’t help the Phoenix Suns to their first championship this year. After adding Kevin Durant to their roster, the Suns were favored for the title this year, until the Joker took things into his own hands. The Denver Nuggets did not just embarrass Kevin Durant and Devin Booker in Game 6 but also forced the organization to make a major decision ahead of the 2023-24 season. Just four months after purchasing the franchise, billionaire owner Matt Isbhia has already started to turn things around.

Billionaire Mat Ishbia purchased a majority stake in the Suns and sister WNBA team, Phoenix Mercury, for a record amount of $4 billion back in December. However, back-to-back blowout losses in consecutive years turned things upside down for the 2022 Coach of the Year.?

Former NFL veteran and analyst Shannon Sharpe let the fans on Twitter know how he predicted this move. The 3-time NFL champion tweeted,?“I H8[hate] that I was right about the Monty Williams situation.?I just couldn?t see him surviving after 2 blowout hm[home] losses in elimination gms[games]. New ownership will want his guy.”
