Last year’s Miami Grand Prix was attended by several big names in the sports world including NBA legend Michael Jordan, Lewis Hamilton, and David Beckham. However, His Airness seemingly chose not to show up for this year’s Miami GP which is now live and running. However, MJ’s youngest son Marcus Jordan surprised fans by attending the event with his girlfriend Larsa Pippen. As the much-talked-about couple shared glimpses of the race from a spectator’s POV, Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc unleashed chaos on the track and made the going difficult for Max Verstappen.

It has only been a couple of days since Marcus Jordan and Larsa Pippen showed their love during a celebrity basketball game. Now the celebrity couple is seen enjoying the iconic F1 event. However, Marcus and Larsa do not seem to be cheering for the same team.

Though Michael Jordan failed to make it to the Miami GP, Marcus Jordan brought his father’s legacy to the celebrated event by opening a new “Trophy Room” store at the event. The iconic Jordan line of sneakers is the major attraction of Marcus’ retail venture. Both Marcus and Larsa took to Instagram to share snippets of the newly opened store. Besides, the two have rendered the fans with couple goals from the stands during the race. Nonetheless, when it came to cheering for a race team, the couple disagreed with each other.

Marcus Jordan took to Instagram and posted a story of a Ferrari racer taking a corner. He mentioned the Instagram handles of the Ferrari team, Formula One, and Formula One Miami in his story. “Ferrari boys,” Marcus wrote in the social media post. Larsa, on the other hand, posted the story of a Red Bull racer taking a corner. She could be heard cheering loudly for the Red Bull team racer who just took the corner. While Marcus and Larsa cheered for Ferrari and Red Bull respectively, Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc made things worse for Redbull’s Max Verstappen.

Charles Leclerc makes matters worse for Max Verstappen

Having won the inaugural Miami GP last year, the reigning world champion Max Verstappen had his eyes set on the prize once again. However, things went out of kilter for the Dutchman in the third qualifying round. Verstappen had to call off his first run in Q3 after turns four and five went awry for the reigning Miami GP winner. The Dutchman was determined to close his second Q3 run on a promising note. However, things got worse when Ferrari’s Charles Leclerc crashed out. The session was ultimately red-flagged with 96 seconds remaining.

Leclerc’s crash and the eventual red flagging left Max Verstappen in the ninth position for the Miami GP. Besides, Verstappen’s teammate Sergio Perez secured the pole in the much-awaited race. Starting the race in the ninth position, the world champion now aims to finish at least in second place in the stellar race.
