However, compared to other stars, Harden has relatively spent significant periods of time at the franchises that he joined. He has certainly established his name among some of the biggest stars in the league. A former NBA star recently commented on rumors about James Harden’s future.

Former NBA star Eddie Johnson revealed his thoughts on James Harden and his uncertain situation at the Brooklyn Nets. Johnson currently works as a co-host on Sirius XM radio’s ‘NBA Today Show’. He mentioned how Harden had to deal with the return of another point guard in a situation that is quite similar to the ones at his former franchises.

Johnson said, “James Harden left Houston to join two tremendous players to win a chip and now for the next 2 months he finds himself back in the very situation he fought hard to get out of, adjusting to a talented point guard ( like CP3, Russell Westbrook) but only for road games.

James Harden joined the Brooklyn Nets in January 2021. His first full season with the Nets has witnessed him struggling with woes off the court and on the court. An offseason injury resulted in him having to rehab a hamstring injury making him unable to play pickup basketball during this period.

A rule change by the NBA that results in referees not awarding fouls on non basketball moves affected his natural game that he employed at the Houston Rockets. Harden also had to adapt to a new role on the court as the Nets’ point guard after Kyrie Irving’s unavailability. Moreover, Harden has averaged only 22.5 ppg as of January 14, signaling his lowest average since the 2011-12 season.
